Pictured here are two stunningly cute sisters! I couldn't resist and had to crochet them matching hats! I used the same pattern from the "Crocheting for Dummies" book, the yarn I used made this project take a little longer, I can never seem to see the stitches. I made these during conference, which 1. kept me alert, and 2. also busy! Thank you Mindy!

Project: Business
So, I'm starting a business, my MIL came across some beautiful scarves and I had to jump on this. I've been looking to join a festival and sell these little gems to beautify the population. I can't really sell them in Summer, b/c who wants to stay extra warm when it's 100 degrees outside! These scarves are a pure silk and or cashmere blend. They are beautiful. My favorite one out of these two, b/c I only have 2 in my possession right now, is the green one. It goes SO well with my brown coat, and the blue one, I wore at church with a black dress-STUNNING! I'm looking for possible venues, but have not been completely sold on any one. I'm open to ideas and suggestions, I hope to be able to sell some of these this fall!!
As far as price goes...I'm not sure, I know some of these are big enough to be a small table cloth, or used as a runner. So right now I'm looking at $20 a piece, until I see them and can better price them!
Project: Headband
Okay, this one was more of an experiment. I was at Tai Pan Trading and saw something like this, I didn't really know what it was or anything, I just saw it really quickly on a model head and tried to recreate this headband thing. I like it, but it needs to be refined more. The flower gets stretched when you tie it on from both ends of the flower. I wore this a couple days in the house, but was not totally comfortable rocking it outside. Austin made a comment that I look like a Junior High girl. So in order to look older, I don't wear it.
Project :Bird Houses
These little gems were fun to paint, only $1.00 @ JoAnns and they add a little accent to the house. The blue one was sort of a watered down look so that the natural wood shows through, the middle is more of a German tribute (notice the shingles on the roof) and the red one I put brown over the top of it to give it an aged look. With the limited talent I have in acrylic painting, I'm pretty pleased with these, I have 2 more to paint, but have none ideas...suggestions?

Project: Tree Skirt
This project was a little more difficult than I thought, esp. since I did not use a pattern. In the end it's not that bad. Of course, this is not the end piece...I kind of ran out of time, and needed to use my tree skirt for Christmas last year. I'm ready to continue this project come December to get me in the Christmas mood. I want to add different scenes to each corner with material. I also want to add batting inside to hopefully give this girl more of a back bone. In the end, I love this thing, and can't wait to get working on it again!!
Project: Handbag
Okay, this project was SO easy, and so versatile!! I'm sure you've heard of it before. This is a placemat bag. I took a placemat and sewed down the edges, and then sewed in 1'' from the sewn corner, so I have 2 seams on one edge and they are perpendicular to each other, then add some handles, anyway you like 'em, add some fun embellishments, a bow, flower, whatever and here you have it a placemat handbag, I use this one for Sundays, nice size for my scriptures! Have fun!

Project: Hats
This hat was my first, and it was in attempts to learn how to crochet. I checked out the book Crocheting for Dummies and just started reading. They had this project of cloche hat, and I let my little hook guide me to this beauty, I did however add the flower later, another project in the CfD book. My sister absolutely thought this was cute, so I was able to crochet 2 more hats for her little girls, I'd say it was a good project for me, b/c I was doing this during Conf. and it kept me alert. : )
Do not think that since it's been so long since I've posted a project that I've been doing nothing...oh, no! I've crocheted 2 teddy bears, and 2 bags. While I was in one of my most favorite stores, (JoAnn) I noticed project sheets on the wall, in March-b/c March is craft month! And this is the beginning of a beautiful thing. I've discovered FREE PATTERNS! and better yet, I can READ these patterns, so I've become an avid surfer of a few websites, feel free to browse these. http://www.joann.com/ http://www.hobbylobby.com/ http://www.redheart.com/ http://www.coatsandclark.com/ http://www.lionbrandyarn.com/ Usually every 2 weeks JoAnn's has a 40% off 1 reg. priced item coupon in their flyer, I pick this up in the store and I buy me a skein of yarn for less than $2, and I'll browse their clearance section, I'm just gonna warn everyone that reads this...I will probably NEVER buy another card to give away as a Happy Something Wish! Instead you're getting a handmade card, (not the best, but thought, time, and love went into the card; so LIKE IT!). I bought black yarn yesterday...and right now a bag or two are crying out of this skein! I can't wait!!

Projects
So just to explain myself, this blog has kind of turned into a "This is what Angie does with her time", and I thought that some people would like to see what I'm doing, get ideas, and give ideas...I'm the kind of person that has 10 different projects going on, and although I'm not done with any of them, I like the variety so if I get bored of one thing I can move on to another. With having a baby that's immobile, I've had a lot of time on my hands (and I quit my day job, so I really have a lot of time on my hands), now that Brynn is getting to the crawling stages, I have to plan out my project time a little bit better.
I'm "featuring" some of my projects, and explaining others...I have not made all of this fun stuff on my own.
What a cute little model, she did so well. So this pic displays a baby hat that Terra made, I put the flower on it and voila! You have a cute little baby hat! It was cute without the flower, but I was experimenting.
This handsome picture features an apron, yes and my man can wear it and ROCK IT! Holly made this apron, at this point you are probably wondering what does this girl make...well, I did not want to take credit where credit is not due, now that I have covered my basis...I will show you what I have done.
I have made window valences for my dining room and living room. This material was the same material used for my wedding, if you were wondering. It was pretty simple to make and didn't cost me really anything. My next project is to make some pillows to put on the couches to bring the color in the room more...I also have made 2 table runners that sit on the table and the buffet table/entertainment center, I will have to take pictures of those and post them as well. I have also made curtains for my little girl's room...I love creating things for the simple fact that I can take pride in what I do, and it doesn't cost me very much to make.
This is a project that I finally finished...it took me about six months, but it's okay. I made a blanket of random colors for Brynn, seeing as she's not old enough for this, I'll hold on to it for a while. The curtains that I made for her room match the backing of this quilt. I also hand stitched flower designs to hold the pieces all together. I don't have quilting frames so I kind of rigged this on my own, although I got it done, I do not recommend quilting without frames...it prevents bubbles, but I'm okay with it. I'm not much of a block quilter, and I'm just experimenting on my own, I also don't have the patience to do fancy designs, I applaud anyone that has that much patience.
And finally my last featured project for today...anyone that knows me, knows that I can draw a stick figure. I wanted to be able to give a gift to my daughter when she's old enough to appreciate it, I've always thought it would be awesome to have my own picture of me that someone drew (sea world 2000, $10, profile, not really impressed with it). Although I am not an artist by profession, I still pick up a pencil and sketch something.
Well, that's it for today...I will continue to post more things. I just want to give a shout out to Heather, Thank you for inspiring me to be creative and well to find out more of who I am instead of loosing myself by watching TV to fill the time!

In the Beginning
This is the start of a new endeavor. I feel inspired to share my talents with others. I enjoy what I do, and well, it keeps me going. I will always be doing something, and I will make sure to post what I am doing, whether it's reading a book, sewing a quilt, or decorating my house and weeding my garden. If you are interested, feel free to look, comment, or whatever!
I owe much of my success to a lot of people...my family, my family, and well my family, and anyone else that is making something and I happen to take a gander at it...THANK YOU!
